About

My life 13 months prior to 2022 is a perfect testimony to why you should build PPLSI. In December, 2020, we moved across the country. While moving, I contracted Covid and spent three weeks in bed seriously ill. But because we had built a team, we had our second biggest month of the year! You see, I had COVID-19, but my team did not.

It took me two more months to recover my energy. In March and April, I was focused on getting my license to start a traditional insurance business and expanding my PPLSI customer base. Before I could capitalize on that though, we were preparing to move again.

In May we closed on our dream home. It is on an acre in the middle of nowhere in rural Pennsylvania, but because I can truly work from home, we can choose where we want to live. We spent the next two months getting mostly settled in and the three months after that consumed with helping our new church family.

I started a book club. I baptized three people. I spent time getting to know my new church family. In the meantime, I continued to maintain Performance Club.

Then as I was about to re-focus on work and get serious about my 4th quarter goals, at the beginning of October I contracted gangrene. For all of October, I was stuck in a recliner in my bedroom, alternately soaking and elevating my foot as I was fighting this infection. Eventually, I ended up in the hospital for 22 days in November, nearly dying but escaping with a large wound at the bottom of my foot and an amputated left big toe. I came home from the hospital on December 2nd, the one-year anniversary of our arrival in Pennsylvania.

I came home with two pumps attached to me. I have been back in the recliner in my bedroom for the last six weeks. I have another surgery coming up and my podiatrist tells me that I will have the pump attached to me for six months and it will be a full year before I am “mostly” recovered.

Two serious illnesses, two long recoveries, two moves, and a year of barely working, and yet all the bills have been paid. We had no income outside of PPLSI. It has been a year of physical lows, but spiritual highs. I drew closer to God and had lots of time to spend with my family in case I had not pulled through. Because thirteen years ago I decided to build my PPLSI business.

The next 10 years are going to pass anyway; when they do you will either say, “I wish I had . . .” or you will be saying what I am saying, “I’m so glad I did!”
